PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

First Responder Training

Our training teams kept busy training 2,360 First Responders, Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and Healthcare workers. Not only did we train MD law enforcement, but several departments outside our state to include the NYPD, Hickory Creek, TX, and the US Secret Service.

Resource Center

Our Resource Center continued to provide vital support for families in the community. 1,306 individuals were provided support and nearly 15,000 participated in Resource Fairs and events, virtually and in person.

Adapting to and Growing Through the Pandemic

After a year of virtual programming, PFA was finally able to return to the communities we serve with in-person resource fairs, training and recreational opportunities. Virtual programming, which has proven to be an essential part of our community outreach, will continue to be a format that we offer to families who may have challenges with childcare, transportation, or other barriers.

This year we served a record-setting 21,908 individuals across the state through our programming.

I'd like to personally thank each and every one of you for giving my family these Ironbirds tickets. We had the opportunity to get together with other family members that we hadn't seen in such a LONG time! We were able to have fun, enjoy each other's company, and most of all, enjoy a great game.

Pathfinders for Autism ROCKS!!! Thank you again for providing families like mine opportunities to have fun and live our best lives!!

EXPANDING OUR COMMUNITY

Dip Challenge

The 2021 Dip Challenge Tour took PFA staff all over the state in our very own tour bus bringing resources, fun, awareness, and fundraising to each region. It was great spending the summer seeing so many old friends and making many new ones.

Run Wild Maryland Zoo

We were back in person at the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and over 1,000 runners and walkers helped us raise $130,000, our highest revenue in 11 years of Run Wild.

Run Wild Assateague

Run Wild for Autism got even wilder with an expansion to the Eastern Shore engaging over 250 participants and raising over $20,000 in year one.

PFA’s New Driver Safety Program
What To Do During a Traffic Stop

To see the initial nervousness of drivers when they enter the program turn to confidence as they leave the program is precisely the outcome we all wanted.  It is rare to have an opportunity to effect such positive change and to have such an overwhelmingly positive response and a remarkable partnership with Pathfinders for Autism is something I consider a highlight of my professional career.

I just wanted to thank your team for your presentation. My biggest fear as a mother and a detective is that my son with ASD will one day get in trouble because of how he reacts to things and he won’t know how to explain himself. What’s even more terrifying is that if the responding officer doesn’t recognize it, I don’t need to tell you how quickly it can escalate. So once again, thank you for what you do.
